This experiential workshop series is for ADHD Adults (18+), and designed with several components that delight the ADHD brain: movement, play, compassion, curiosity, and community. Additionally, an IFS (Internal Family Systems) framework will be used as a supportive model to understand our experiences.
We will meet the following dates on zoom:
11/1/23
11/8/23
11/15/23
Each weekly workshop will be structured the same, but have a brief educational focus on a different aspect of support for ADHD:
Week 1 (11/1): Movement/Exercise
Week 2 (11/8): Play, Flow, Creativity
Week 3 (11/15): Parts Work (Internal Family Systems) Framework
And the structure of each weekly session will (generally!) look like:
Guided Movement
Activities that engage Play/Flow
Brief psychoeducation about the topic of the week
Embodied Parts Work
Group Discussion
You may want to try this series out if you are an ADHDer who:
is curious how movement/play might impact your brain and general well-being
wants to hear a bit about the science behind how movement and exercise impact ADHD
wants to connect with other ADHDers, but talking and listening for long periods of time is overwhelming to you
is wondering how curiosity might be helpful for common ADHD struggles
is interested how IFS/parts work might help you be more collaborative and less adversarial with your ADHD brain
is willing to co-create a respectful and inclusive container guided by a neuroqueer perspective
is neuroqueer, BIPOC, trans, or experiencing overlapping marginalized experiences in addition to being ADHD/neurodivergent
This experience might NOT be the right fit for you if:
You’re looking for the type of processing space you may get from group talk therapy
You primarily want a space to talk and you don’t like the movement and play components
You want a fully guided exercise class
You don’t want to do any self-reflection on the emotional aspects of ADHD
You only want advice and straightforward coping skills for ADHD
Cost:
$50
Sliding Scale Available $30-50
If you are curious but not sure if it’s a good fit for you, you’re welcome to set up a brief meeting with me to ask questions! (Choose 1:1 consult, add a note that you want to ask about the group)
